Sewing
Applied Arts Collegial degree in which I studied drawing (live and obeservation), painting, sculpting and woodworking.
I started my exploration of Fiber Arts in 2014 through sewing and fabric exploration. In the last decade I've been experimenting with sewing, pattern modification and creation, knitting, crochet, weaving and dyeing (Natural & Chemical). I apply this knowledge at everystep of my practice, including sustainability practices.
Returned to school to complete a certificate in Business management and startup at HEC Montréal, part-time while continuing working full time at TD Insurance as an IT Analyst.
Decided to turn my love of fibers in concrete technical skills backed with a diploma. I realized I wasn't ready to consider myself as a full fledged artist and wanted to deepen my general artistic knowledge and personal practice exploration before specializing.
With this self-reflcetion, I decided to alter my major to Design for the Theatre where I learned conceptual, realization and technical skills reinforced by a concrete framework for my art and my growth.
As of 2022, I added a minor in Computation Arts to my curriculum. My intend was to broaden my practice exploration even more. My previous experience as an IT Analyst allowed me to have a good basic grasp on msot of the concepts in class and rapidly integrate my fibers and material practice to coding and electronics components.
